We, the undersigned, call upon your esteemed bodies to urgently intervene in the case of Edris Faquihi, a Kurdish activist and member of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), who has been subjected to enforced disappearance, torture, and denial of legal rights by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Facts of the Case:
- On July 24, 2021, Edris Faquihi was arrested in the aftermath of a conflict between PJAK members and IRGC forces in Elmabad village, Bukan City, West Azerbaijan province. Initially reported killed, credible sources later confirmed that Edris was severely injured, captured alive, and subsequently subjected to enforced disappearance.
- Witnesses and former detainees have reported that Edris has been detained at the IRGC's Al-Mahdi Barracks in Urmia, West Azerbaijan Province, where he has been denied access to medical care despite critical injuries sustained during his capture. Reports indicate that Edris has been subjected to torture and inhumane treatment during his detention.
- Despite repeated inquiries and demands for transparency, Iranian authorities have neither acknowledged Edris's detention nor provided any information regarding his health, whereabouts, or legal status. Efforts by Edris's family and human rights organizations to seek justice and clarity on his condition have been met with silence, denial, or hostility.
Demands:
- Immediate Release or Fair Trial: We demand that Edris Faquihi be immediately and unconditionally released if there is no credible evidence against him. Should some charges warrant a trial, we insist on a prompt, fair, and transparent trial by international legal standards, where Edris has access to a chosen attorney and the opportunity to defend himself.
- Medical Attention: Given the reports of torture and neglect, we urge that Edris be provided with immediate and adequate medical care to address any injuries or health issues resulting from his treatment in detention.
- Transparency and Accountability: We call for full transparency regarding Edris's detention conditions and legal status. Furthermore, we demand an independent investigation into the circumstances of his arrest, allegations of torture, and the treatment he has received while in custody, holding those responsible accountable.
The case of Edris Faquihi is a glaring example of human rights abuses, including enforced disappearance, torture, and denial of due process, which demand immediate attention and action from the international community. We implore your organizations to use all available mechanisms to pressure the Iranian government to adhere to its international obligations and ensure justice for Edris Faquihi.

مادر ادریس فقیهی، با انتشار ویدیویی از وضعیت جسمی نامناسب خود خبر داد و گفت که تنها درخواست او دیدار با فرزندش پیش از مرگ است. فاطمه مقصودی، مادر این زندانی سیاسی در پیامی می‌گوید نهادهای امنیتی تا کنون پاسخ روشنی در خصوص سرنوشت فرزندش به او نداده‌اند و در این مدت بارها از سوی ماموران امنیتی مورد بی‌احترامی قرار گرفته است.
