Important Update:
Despite Public Outcry, Iranian Judiciary Executes Mojahed Korkor
June 11, 2025
This statement serves as an update to this petition originally published on June 3, 2024, calling for the halt of the execution of Mojahed Korkor.
Tragically, on June 11, 2025, Mojahed Korkor was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. His execution was carried out despite repeated and explicit statements by the family of Kian Pirfalak, who publicly declared that Korkor was not responsible for the death of their son. Adding to the outrage, the Iranian authorities scheduled the execution on what would have been Kian Pirfalak’s birthday — a move widely condemned as both symbolic and cruel.
We reiterate our condemnation of this grave injustice and call on international bodies, human rights organizations, and civil society actors to respond with urgency and hold the Islamic Republic accountable for its continued violations of fundamental rights.
Mojahed Korkor is now the eleventh Iranian citizen to be executed in connection with the nationwide 2022–2023 uprising known as the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement. His case has come to symbolize the ongoing use of the death penalty as a tool of repression against political dissent and public protest in Iran.

We urgently request immediate intervention to prevent the execution of Mojahed Korkor.
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the potential execution of Mojahed Korkor by the Islamic Republic of Iran. We urge you to take immediate and effective action to save his life. Mojahed Korkor, a native of Izeh in Khuzestan province, was arrested on December 20, 2022, on charges of shooting civilians during the November 2019 protests in Izeh, including the murder of nine-year-old Kian Pirfalak. Witnesses state that Kian's tragic death occurred in his father's car, which was fired upon by government security forces.
Kian Pirfalak's family has repeatedly testified that security and law enforcement officers were responsible for the shooting at their car and Kian's subsequent death on the evening of November 16, 2019. They have expressed that they hold no grievances against Mojahed Korkor. Despite this, Mojahed Korkor remains in prison and faces the risk of execution.
Mojahed Korkor's sister, Negar, has conveyed her brother's distressing situation through messages received from inside the prison, pleading for people to advocate for her brother's innocence. Mojahed Korkor's message from prison, themed "Help me, save me," highlights the urgent and critical nature of his situation.
