On October 14, 2023, Yadullah Naderi, a 32-year-old Kurdish citizen from Marivan, was forcibly taken by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to an undisclosed location. More than a month has passed, and there remains a concerning lack of information regarding Mr. Naderi's whereabouts and well-being. Despite persistent inquiries by his family and the civil society of Kurdistan, local intelligence and relevant authorities in Marivan City continue to deny any involvement in Mr. Naderi's disappearance.
This incident is not isolated. The abduction of Mr. Naderi is part of a disturbing trend of increased forced disappearances of political activists in Kurdistan, particularly following the weakening of the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement. These acts of retaliation are often shrouded in secrecy, with security forces denying such occurrences. There are growing fears that Mr. Naderi may be subjected to torture or coerced into false confessions.
No information has been provided about Mr. Naderi's condition, the rationale for his apparent detention, or his current location. This lack of transparency and accountability is deeply troubling. We are highly concerned for the safety, health, and fundamental rights of Yadullah Naderi.
Through this petition, we strongly urge the judicial authorities of Iran to provide clarity on the situation of Yadullah Naderi immediately. We demand a transparent investigation into his disappearance, assurance of his safety, and respect for his legal and human rights.
