بررسی کارنامه ۴۰ ساله جمهوری اسلامی در زمینه نقض حق تحصیل شهروندان بهائی نشان می‌دهد طی چهار دهه صدها تن از دانشجویان بهائی ایرانی به دلیل باورهای دینی خود از تحصیلات عالی منع شده‌اند. این در حالی‌ست که دانش‌آموزان بهائی هم از بد رفتاری و تبعیض سیستماتیک در مدارس ایران مصون نیستند. محسن حاجی میرزائی، وزیر آموزش و پرورش در روز ۲۰ شهریور ماه ۹۸ اعلام کرد اگر دانش‌آموزان اظهار کنند که پیرو ادیان دیگری به جز ادیان رسمی کشور هستند و این اقدام آنها به نوعی تبلیغ محسوب شود، از تحصیل آنها در مدارس جلوگیری می‌شود.
بر اساس آمارهای منتشر شده، شمار شهروندان بهائی در ایران بالغ بر ۳۰۰ هزار نفر اعلام شده است. این مسأله بیان‌گر آن است که بهائیان بزرگ‌ترین اقلیت دینی غیرمسلمان در ایران هستند که بسیاری از حقوق شهروندی، از جمله حق تحصیل آنان به شکلی پیوسته و سازمان‌یافته از سوی حکومت جمهوری اسلامی نقض شده است.
ما امضاء کنندگان این طومار خواستار پایان یافتن فوری نقض سیستماتیک حقوق شهروندی بهائیان در ایران هستیم.
همچنین ما از تمامی سازمان‌ها و فعالان حقوق بشر در داخل و خارج از ایران می‌خواهیم در برابر نقض گسترده حق تحصیل هموطنان بهائی سکوت نکنند و در راستای احقاق حقوق پایمال شده پیروان آئین بهائی در ایران از هیچ اقدامی دریغ نورزند.

- Defending the Baha'is right to education
During the 40 years of the Islamic Republic of Iran, hundreds of Iranian Baha’i students have been banned from higher education because of their religious beliefs. However, Baha’i students are not immune from systematic misconduct and discrimination in Iranian schools. Minister of Education, Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, on September 11th 2019 announced that students are prohibited from attending schools if they declare that they adhere to religions other than the official religions of the country.
According to published statistics, the number of Baha’i citizens in Iran is over 300,000. This indicates that Baha’is of Iran, as the largest non-Muslim religious minority in Iran, continuously and systematically have violated many of their citizenship rights, including the right of education, by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
We, the signatories of this petition, call for an immediate end to the systematic violation of Baha’i citizenship in Iran.
We also urge all human rights organizations and activists inside and outside of Iran not to remain silent about the widespread violation of the right of Baha’i compatriots to study and do not hesitate to pursue the rights of the Baha’is in Iran.
