بنا به گزارش سازمان حقوق بشر ایران در روزهای ۱۸ تا ۲۶ اسفند ۱۴۰۰ دست‌کم ۱۹ نفر در زندان مرکزی شیراز (عادل‌آباد) اعدام شدند. یکی از اعدامیان زن بوده است. این روند هولناک همچنان ادامه دارد و قرار است به فاصله کوتاهی ظرف روزهای آینده ۱۵ زندانی دیگر که به اعدام محکوم شده‌اند حکم‌شان اجرا شود. مسئولان بخش اجرای احکام زندان عادل آباد به آنها گفته‌اند که تا قبل از ماه رمضان حکم ایشان اجرا خواهد شد.
به ادعای مسئولان زندان‌ها، اتهامات زندانیان اعدام شده عمدتاً مربوط به مواد مخدر یا قتل بوده است. نام‌های تعدادی از اعدام شدگان به این شرح است: مسعود غروبی ، غلامحسین صدری، علی سهندی، محمد حسین سهندی، صادق صاحبی و بشیر کابلی.
در هفته‌ی پیش از آن در زندان رجایی‌شهر نیز خبر اعدام سه زندانی به نام‌های محسن جندقی، غلامعلی خوارگیر و عباس خوارگیر منتشر شد. در همین تاریخ، یوسف هاشمی در زندان مرکزی قزوین، علی میرزایی در زندان میاندوآب، و یک شهروند تبعه افغانستان در زندان دستگرد اصفهان نیز اعدام شدند.
درست در روزهایی که مردم ایران آماده‌ی مراسم نوروزی هستند و دولت در مذاکرات برجام در حال گرفتن امتیاز از دولت‌های غربی است، ماشین اعدام نیز سرعت سرسام‌آوری گرفته است: طی ده روز، روزی دو تا سه نفر اعدام شدند، یعنی هر هشت ساعت یک اعدام!
ما امضاکنندگان این دادخواست خواهان توقف فوری این اعدام‌ها هستیم. ما از جامعه‌ی جهانی می‌خواهیم به هنگام مذاکرات هسته‌ای با جمهوری اسلامی درباره‌ی اعدام‌های فله‌ای در ایران ساکت نباشند و با سکوت و امتیازدهی راه را بر اعدام‌های بیشتر هموار نسازند! ما خواهان لغو مجازات اعدام هستیم.

Stop the Executions!

According to the Iran Human Rights Organization, at least 19 people, including a woman, were executed in Shiraz Central Prison (Adilabad) between 9 and 17 March 2022. This horrific trend is likely to continue, with 15 more prisoners on death row set to be executed in the coming days. Officials at Adilabad Prison have told them that their sentences will be carried out before the holy month of Ramadan.
According to prison officials, the charges against the executed prisoners were mainly related to drugs or murder. Some of those executed are Massoud Ghoroobi, Gholam Hossein Sadri, Ali Sahandi, Mohammad Hossein Sahandi, Sadegh Sahebi, and Bashir Kaboli.
Over the past two weeks, Rajai-Shahr prison authorities have executed three prisoners, Mohsen Jandaghi, Gholam Ali Khargir, and Abbas Khargir. On the same day, Yousef Hashemi was executed in Qazvin Central Prison, Ali Mirzaei in Miandoab Prison, and an Afghan citizen in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan.
Just in the days when the Iranian people are preparing for the Nowruz celebrations, and the Islamic Republic is in nuclear negotiations to get more concessions from Western governments, its execution machine is accelerating. Two or three people were executed a day in ten days, one execution every eight hours!
We, the signatories of this petition, call for an immediate end to these executions. We call on the international community not to remain silent about the numerous executions in Iran during the nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic and not to pave the way for further executions by their silence and concessions! We want the death penalty abolished.
